The program is an inexpensive one hour/one day a week “Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey” program for kids who are interested in exploring the game of hockey, but who are not ready for House League play. It follows AHAI’s American Development Model (ADM) for fundamental skating instruction and skill based development, preparing skaters for future play.
All participants must be new to hockey and everyone receives a Chicago Blackhawks Minor Hawks jersey and FREE equipment for use during the sessions (all equipment must be returned at the end of the sessions.)
HOUSE LEAGUE (HL) is for boys and girls typically age 6 and older. It is designed to build a skaters’ skill base and love for the game of hockey, and to begin game play. A fall and winter session are offered. Fall session begins in October each year, Winter session begins in January.
TRAVEL TEAMS are teams with more focused and regular practices who enjoy an enhanced team atmosphere and who test their skill development through game play against other youth hockey organizations.
